Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
Education: UNIVERSITY NAME
Work Days: Monday, Tuesday, Friday
I was born and raised on a farm and ranch in southeast Kansas. I attended college in Pittsburg, KS where I played football and ran track.
My interest in veterinary medicine started while working alongside the family vet treating the horses, cattle, hogs, dogs, and cats that lived on the ranch. This veterinarian was held in the highest regard both in the community and by my father, and this is what inspired me to pursue the vocation of veterinary medicine.
I was awarded the Jose Rodriquez scholarship for attitude and professionalism and was also class president, making the dean’s list while in vet school. After graduating from Ross University with honors I started working in a mixed animal practice in Lancaster, OH; after seven years transitioning to small animal only work.
I am one of the owners and veterinarians at Cryan part time, while helping manage two other practices the rest of the time. The rest of the Carson clan includes my wife Donya, who is an ER doctor at MedVet in Worthington; a son River, who is interested in fishing, hunting, and boy scouts; and a daughter Aspen, who runs track and loves to read. We have two cats, Theo and Simon, and a Lab/Golden cross whom we adopted from Canine Companions for Independence. In my free time, I enjoy all things outdoors, as well as attending the kid’s activities.
