Wellness Tips

  1. Dogs and cats need annual vet visits – a trip to see the vet each year can help detect an underlying illness, assist with unwanted behavior issues, and more!  It can help accustom your pet to being handled by different people.  This is especially important in case of an emergency.
  2. Behavior changes – Changes in your pet’s behavior can be an early indication that something is wrong medically.  If your pet is eating less, drinking more, taking potty breaks more frequently, or not playing as much as usual, a trip to see the vet is recommended.
  3. Check weight periodically – A large amount of adult cats and dogs are overweight.  Just like with people, these extra pounds can lead to increased risk of arthritis, joint problems, and disease.
  4. Bad breath – Pets need their teeth cleaned on a regular basis just like we do.  They can have a buildup of plaque causing bad breath or even dental pain.  Untreated dental disease can also cause other medical conditions.
